Why del.icio.us is dan.gero.us

12 Comments Published by Niall Cook July 27th, 2007 in Enterprise bookmarking

In a very good introduction to Enterprise 2.0, CIO.com (perhaps unwittingly) demonstrates why public social bookmarking systems like del.icio.us are not appropriate and potentially even dangerous as business tools:
Marketing teams could use social bookmarks for competitive analysis to track what a competitor is doing; Sales could use it to learn and share information about targeted […]

What is Enterprise 2.0?

3 Comments Published by Niall Cook July 27th, 2007 in Enterprise bookmarking

Whilst we’re not great fans of the term here at Cogenz towers, we couldn’t help but applaud Frédéric Cavazza’s excellent article answering the question What is Enterprise 2.0?
If you’re into schematic diagrams take a look. You won’t be disappointed.

UPDATE 31 July: We made it into the official press release
Cogenz has signed up to be a sponsor of the Office 2.0 Conference to be held in San Francisco on 5-7 September. We’ll have a stand, a live demo presentation and a few people milling round, and are also planning a couple of suprises.

The Office […]

Case Study: Managing Private Knowledge

2 Comments Published by Niall Cook July 25th, 2007 in Cogenz, Corporate Beta Program, Knowledge management

Our friends at Headshift (website | blog) are the latest to publicise how they’re using Cogenz to manage private knowledge in the form of bookmarks.
The company with the strapline ’smarter, simpler, social’ certainly lives up to this claim when describing how they implemented our solution:

Headshift simply signed up for Cogenz, sent an email out to […]

Enterprise 2.0 case studies

5 Comments Published by Julia Grinham July 24th, 2007 in Cogenz, Enterprise bookmarking

We’re so pleased to see that Andrew McAfee has set up a space for people to share case studies on successful Enterprise 2.0 case studies. Cogenz has added our experiences with BUPA and iConcertina into the pot, and we would actively encourage others to include their stories.
The more solid case studies we as an industry […]

Bill Ives writes about Cogenz on FastForward blog

2 Comments Published by Julia Grinham July 24th, 2007 in Cogenz, Publicity, Technology

Just wanted to say thanks to Bill Ives for writing about Cogenz recently on the FastForward blog on Enterprise 2.0 (which we’re all avid followers of here at Cogenz!).
A couple of points Bill mentions that are worth highlighting:
“They [Cogenz] are currently scoping out a Server Installed version of Cogenz to meet client requirements for a […]

Connectbeam raises Series A

3 Comments Published by Niall Cook July 16th, 2007 in Enterprise bookmarking

We’d like to be amongst the first (or even the first?) to congratulate Puneet Gupta and his team at Connectbeam on securing Series A funding. They are, without doubt, the leaders when it comes to complex enterprise bookmarking systems.
I’ve met Puneet just the once, but read and comment on his blog frequently, and he’s a […]

Making social tools work at work

1 Comment Published by Julia Grinham July 13th, 2007 in Cogenz, Collective intelligence, Enterprise bookmarking, Knowledge management

I’ve just been to the Unicom conference in London on Social Tools for Business Use, and found it really insightful to hear people’s views and experiences on where and how social tools are actually being adopted within organisations. Seems like we’re seeing more and more case studies being shared (here we heard from BT, CILIP […]

Case Study: Sharing Intelligence across Continents

1 Comment Published by Niall Cook July 9th, 2007 in Cogenz, Collective intelligence, Enterprise bookmarking, Knowledge management

Further to the case study we recently published demonstrating how BUPA are using social bookmarking to facilitate networking across their organisation, we just posted another that outlines how a web development company are using it to share intelligence across continents.
Whilst Cogenz shares an investor with the subject of our second case study, iConcertina, there were […]

Case Study: Social Bookmarking in the Enterprise

4 Comments Published by Niall Cook July 6th, 2007 in Cogenz, Corporate Beta Program, Enterprise bookmarking

Thanks to our friends at BUPA, we just published a case study outlining how they are using social bookmarking to facilitate networking across their organisation.
BUPA was one of our first corporate beta sites so have been with us through a couple of versions, trialling Cogenz with 50 of their head office users to create a […]
