A Code for Enterprise 2.0 Practitioners

Published by Niall Cook June 1st, 2007 in Collective intelligence, Knowledge management

Rex Lee suggests a three-line code for the new Enterprise 2.0 practioner:

  • Value at all costs the personal impact of social computing
  • People are not resources to be exploited
  • Realize that the crowd is not always right

His argument for requiring such a code is that "the personal nature of social computing means we have a moral repsonsibility." He continues, citing experience where "…the beliefs, thoughts, ideas of individuals was more than just data and information. It was a representation of themselves personally."

I think Rex has started something interesting. I’m not sure where it will end up, but it will be worth tagging (no pun intended) along for the journey.

    Here’s one I’m paraphrasing from Seth Godin…

Make people feel good and good things happen - “people feel good when they are connected with other people with the same ideas.”

That last bit is particularly relevant to us, Scott. Thanks.
